The livance (pronunciation: livantze) are another typical dish which comes from the Bohemian tradition. It consists in a sort of pancakes served with powdered sugar and jam. They are usually baked on the occasion of country festivals.

Melt the yeast in a bowl with the lukewarm milk, add the sugar and flour. Cover it with a cloth and let it rise for about one hour. Add the egg yolks previously whisked and the salt. Stir until the dough becomes smooth and quite liquid. Let it rise for about one hour. The dough must double in volume. Cook in the designated pan oiling the moulds with some butter. Flavour with jam.
