Val Concei

Val Concei is the green lung of Valle di Ledro. It's covered by thick wood, suitable for enjoyable walks or mountain hikes to the tops of the mountains, like the Monte Cadria.

Between the villages of Pieve and Bezzecca on the right the road get into Val Concei. Particulary peaceful and green, it is surrounded by a beautyful mountain range with peacks over 2000 m a.s.l.
In Val Concei there are three little villages, Locca, Enguiso and Lenzumo, excellent starting points for hikes in the mountains. The torrent Assat wind along the valley, the water from Mount Guì (1600 m), runs along the three villages and in Bezzecca flows into the torrent Massangla.
The name "Concei" comes from the latin word "concilium" which in the third/fourth century a.C. meant the organ of administration of Ledro Valley.
An important roman road passed from Riva del Garda through Concei Valley and then continued to Chiese Valley. Many findings demonstrate the existence of Lombardic settlements: a cemetery in Lenzumo and several graves in Enguiso and Locca.
During the First World War (1915-1918), the villages of the valley were destroyed, also the churches were damaged and the parish registers got lost.
