Walking paths CAI/SAT

The Valle di Ledro, situated in the uplands between Lago di Garda and Lago d'Idro, is very varied in form. On its northern slopes we find a beautiful ring of mountains, including Monte Cadria which rises to 2254 m., one of the highest peaks in the Alpi di Ledro. To the south is located the Carone-Tremalzo-Tombea group, of great interest to hikers and naturalists alike. The relatively even terrain of the valley floor is ideal for peaceful and relaxing strolls.

The Valle di Ledro is equipped with a dense network of CAI-SAT (Italian Alpine Club) trails marked with their trademark red and white signage and numbered by area. Each trail starts with a signpost indicating the point of destination and any intermediate stages, together with the estimated duration of the hike. Along the way the trail is indicated by painted white and red markers on trunks, rocks, etc.
The hiking map available from the Consorzio Pro Loco Valle di Ledro tourist board, at a scale of 1:33 000, shows all of these trails in red and is accompanied by a booklet providing a full description and the rough duration of the hikes.
Kompass maps are also available from newsagents and stationers in the valley which include trails which are not marked with the signage described.
