A small town on Lake Ledro, known mainly for the Bronze Age pile-dwellings settlement which re-emerged into the light of day in 1929. More than 10.000 piles and many other objects like pottery were found. The museum preserves these things and describes the way of life of the old Ledro inhabitants.
The town centre and the older parts of the nearby villages are built in the typical architectural style of the area, although many houses were rebuilt or renovated after the First World War.
Very evident is the origin of the name which means village of mills. Mills, saw-mills, smithies had exploited the craft of water. Molina di Ledro is sitauted along the river Ponale, effluent of the Lake Ledro till the hydroelectric plant was built in Riva del Garda.
