Bezzecca is situated in the centre of the Valle di Ledro at the outlet of the lateral Concei Valley and is, above all, during the summer a tourist centre. The Latin origin of the name is "bis secta" which means "cut in two parts". The river "Assat" cut the little village in two districts: "Villa" on the right side and "Luta" on the left side. Bezzecca is famous for being the scene of the battle between the Italian army under Garibaldi and the Austrian army in 1866 during the Third Indipendence War. There is an interesting park on the S. Stefano hill where the Path of Peace winds through the trenches.
Very interesting is also the little church "S. Lucia in pratis" of the 15th century which has been completely restored last year and where have been discovered very old frescoes.
